Doctors can lose their license if they write to many pain meds. One old time Doctor that was still doing house calls for 3.50 got forced out a few years ago.He had a lot of older people who were terminally ill and was trying to keep them comfortable.Watchdogs who havent had problems with chronic pain are in control.

My daughter lives with daily pain from her back she has one of those implanted things to help but she still has pain. I would go to the Pain clinc they can do wonders for you the cost at first is high but it will get much better as you go along with it.

Ricky, the request for pain meds is in epidimic proportions. As a pharmacist i see it. Lots of people are just addicted. It wasn't near so much 40 plus years ago. Not many doctors want to create an addict and then be responsible for it. Its hard to seperate the addicted from the people with a real cause of pain. I wish you success in your treatment and recovery

I think the undertreatment of pain is in epidemic in the US. To many Doctors afraid of the feds taking away license. A few years back I had a reoccurence of a herniated disc L5 S1. Dr gave me a prescription for Viccoden (it helped)and told me to come see him in 1 week. The prescription was for 3 pills. I found it ironic the instructions said not to exceed 4 a day.

I agree Scott.. My dad was in the last stages of cancer, the doctor would not give him anything stronger than Lortab.. They finally did prescribe a morphine patch, less than 24 hours before he passed away..but only because we demanded it. I still have a real bad attitude against that so-called doctor..
