Everyone is welcome to attend the plow day we are planning at New Cambria Mo. this saturday the 1st. 80 acres off the bat,and more if needed. Should be a mixture of soil types. Several are planning on coming allready. Hope to see some of you there. Even if you dont bring a tractor, come and watch. We are planning a open campfire to roast wieners on for lunch. NapaSteve is bringing the wiener sticks and wieners will be provided, although if you want to bring some extras, please do. Loader tractor will be at field to help unload. Directions are along hwy 36 Go North through New Cambria on 149 about 2 miles and take right(east) on gravel (Derby st.) 3/4 mile to Dolphin st. Take left,(north) to plow site. Here's a google map. Hope to see you there and watch old timers become young again, and the young creating memories. I think I'll take the 1468 and disc to make some noise!

Red ;how about explaining to this MS. redneck just what a plow day is ?? I read about it but can't understand where you get the land to plow & are you talking about a turning plow ?...farmed for over 30 yrs. I never saw but one turning plow run back in the early 60's...weren't used down here...formers down here would't let you in ther field this time of year nowdays anyhow...thanks ...Kent

Moldboard plow. We usually fall tillage, i.e. chisel, disc,or cultivate the ground before winter. Used to they moldboard plowed everything, but not anymore. This is something that brings back memories more than anything, and also breaks up packed ground,so benifits are to be had by doing it.Land was donated for use by local farmer that enjoyes everyone in the community getting together just to have fun. It brings a lot of neighbors together, and gives the old timers something to talk about when loafing at the coffee shop for months.
