Pretty good movie if you can get past the BIBLE stuff and all. Sort of funny how it does such a good job of pointing to how the GOV. does screw the little guy and gets away with it

I watched that in the theater on July 3rd. With my girlfriend.
Well either the big man upstairs didn't like the movie, or my girlfriend, or some combination of the two. Because when I got home, the trees had down branches, the house had all kinds of rain blown in, the TV didn't work, the entertainment center got all warped, the corn was all blown over, shingles were blown off the roof.
I could blame the movie, but my gf also complained about all the 'bible stuff'. Apparently she didn't want preached to.

Now that the crop is out we can finally get to some of the downed tree limbs to cut up.

We took the kids to it when it first came to the theater. I agree, it was a pretty good movie. A lot better than most of the stuff Hollywood puts out.

The story of the flood and the Arc is not exclusive to christianity. Many religions that christianity borrowed from have stories of the flood. Heck, even religions unknown to original organizers of christianity had a flood story. Kinda substantiates the flood.... Not christianity...

This probably does not belong in this forum, sorry.

Aaron

Guess I should have said how it doesn't really go with what the book does say. As I told the other guy I sort of know the book well being a preachers son and all and having read if front to back a few times . And also checking what it really did say in the hebrew, greek and latin

no, no, it's quite okay.

I haven't seen the movie myself and was worried about a little bit about blasphemy, particularly in front of the kids.

Not really all that bad unless you really know the book real well. But it does make a person think about how bad the gov. really is and how we the people let them do it to use

I know this is not necessarily appropriate for this forum, but on a similar subject. There"s a new movie that is just coming out in time for the holidays for kids . . . that is now beginning to be heavily advertised on TV, called "The Golden Compass". You might want to read what some are saying about it"s underlying theme. Go to SNOPES.com and search under the movie name.
