Alan, I have been following your posts on the Gleaners. I am a JD collector and like the wheatland versions. I am having a terrible time finding good used 18.4x30 or 18.4x34 tires for these JDs. Is there a chance that any of these parts combines would have any decent tires? I know some of the Gleaner combines used them. If you would happen to have any good used tires of this size, and want to part with them, let me know. Thanks, Ron

Ron

It's too bad you are so far away. I have a set of 18.4 X 30 tires, rims and fluid I took off our 4010. I also have a pair of 30" cast centers for a 4020 and a set of 34" cast centers for 4010. It would have to travel almost 200 miles just to get to Pembina ND.

I am about 70 miles east of Sterling. My ranch is on the Colo-Ne stateline, southeast of Holyoke. I can get 13x26 and 23.1x26 tires around here for almost nothing. The 55 and 95 JD combines used them and are plentiful. I would be interested in the 18.4x30 used tires, as I have a JD 70 LP Standard that is sitting on bare rims right now. Alan, I can't get the email to go through. If any of you are interested in the 26 inch tires, let me know, as horsetrading seems to be in my blood. Thanks, Ron

Ron, where in NE Colorado are you? I have a couple pair of 18.4 X 30 tires that I picked up for free as part of another deal, and have no use for them. They're both pretty worn, but are probably useable.

I'm about 10 mi east of Parker. Let me know if you want them. Something to trade would be good, otherwise you can have them as I just want to get them out of the way.

E-mail is open, let me know if you're interested. I've got to go run an errand, but can take some pictures if you're interested.

Keith

Lots of Gleaner M, M2 combines used the 18.4-30. 4020 Often came with the 18.4-34.

Hi Ron,

Boy, if I had 'em they would be yours for the asking free of charge.

That's another rub tho; looks like I'll be buying a set of tires 'cause these are totally shot. Smaller size on these little machines too; only 26".

I think I have a set of 23.1-26's off that F2 the engine came outta and maybe a set of 18.4-26's off the other F2 we had. Will take pics and post later today hopefully. Where is the machine with the walkers and engine coming from?

Hi Joe,

He's down in the southern end of the state from what I gather.

He's been busy the past two weeks stripping that old machine. Sending the complete engine pod assembly, all four walkers, return elevator and a box of small odds and ends.

Sounds like the stuff is going to be loaded on Friday and start the westward trek across the country. Should be in Grinell, IA the first of the week, I'd guess.

I'd better get busy so I'll be ready for it when it finally makes it clear out here to no-man's land. :>)
