Transmission is out, completely on the Chev 3500, 196,000 miles behind a 454 vortec pulling for 1/2 its life. it lived a good life, but she went Kaplooee. I am scared to get the rebuild with updates estimate. Just spent $1000 on engine- injectors, pressure regulator. Wife is after me to get a extended cab, so if any on is in the market for a good tough 1ton+ with a rebuilt trannie, let me no. I may be selling if she keeps insisting on the extended cab demand. All set up for pulling

dave, we sent a trans out about 2 months ago on an early 90's 3500 gmc, 454 auto dualley that was cooked. our trans guy did the whole trans for 700.00. he builds transmissions for hot rods and drag cars, and he did some upgrades to this one. see if you got a speed shop or hot rod engine builder in your area. they want the trans and torque converter out of the truck.

Brought it to the neigbor on the back 40, he has a shop and has been building trannies for pulling truck and high perf cars for 20 years. Plus he will only charge $40 an hour labor, everyone else was $70 or more.
