I have recently purchased a small Ford tractor. It is missing the hood and grill and I can't find a serial tag or model number. The back half and frame looks similar to an 8n and it has the clamshell fenders, but it has a flathead straight six engine that says Ford Industrial. The frame is blue and the remaining sheet metal is grey. Any help in identifying the model would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

Thanks for the help guys. I'll try to get some pictures posted within the next couple days. It appears to be factory and ,unfortunately, the previous owner did have the sheet metal until it got stolen off the tractor.

I'll agree with old on this one. NO PRODUCTION MODEL FORD EVER HAD A FLAT HEAD 6 engine.
It's most likely some form of Funk conversion on an "N" or a hundred series.... or who knows what other kind of botchery that was built in someone's back yard. The N's were all flat heads. The hundred series were OHV engines. All were 4 cylinders.
If it's based on a hundred series tractor the serial and model numbers are stamped on the bell housing aft of the starter...

I wanna farmall said: (quoted from post at 18:52:19 11/13/07) This is a jubilee NAA, the precurser to tractors by the hundreds (640,780,etc)

Lance, time to clear up some misconceptions, It is not a Golden Jubilee NAA, it is a NAA Golden Jubilee. NAA were built from 1952 thur 1954. The Golden Jubalee was the Fords' 50yr Aniversary tractor therefore only 1953 NAA tractors were Golden Jubilees.HTH

Serial #for 1953 NAA(Golden Jubilee), 2380 to 77474
Indiana Boy:

Old has made a really good assumption of which model you are dealing with---8N Funk Conversion. Really hard to say exactly without more info and a picture.

Probably a funk conversion. NO Ford ever had a flat head 6 cylinder stock so it has to be one some one put together or a funk

does it look anything like this? This is a jubilee NAA, the precurser to tractors by the hundreds (640,780,etc)
