Will be my nephews first christmas and I would really like to restore a pedal tractor for him. I am really hoping to find a green one if you know what I mean. If anybody has one and would be willing to let it go to a young guy for a reasonable price, email me. Thanks, Alex

Do not buy him a restored collectable. Go buy a brand new one that will be cheaper than most restored models and you will not feel so bad if it gets broke or ran over after being left in the driveway.

Hope you find one. I still have my Oliver 88 pedal that I got for Christmas in 1956. Hope they can find a big enough casket to burry me with that thing.

Jeez, don't do that! Somebody will dig you up to get at it! Make for an interesting e-bay auction, though. "Good original condition, comes with large storage container and original owner."

Guess they'll have to dump me in an unmarked grave!

Alex,
If you are creative, why not build him a stroller,
I have many designs, mostly airplanes, but I did a "Bobkitty" skid steer loader stroller, we went to the Louisville Farm Show and had lots of fun , it got to be so much fun we did it at airshows with my other designs, P-40, Corsair, Stealth Fighter, Bleriot, and others, we are expecting our first grandchild in a few months and I am working on more designs....Trust me if the child is small, a stroller will thrill people, the pedal tractor is not fun for the adults, but a stroller will get attention!!! build it out of cheap luan plywood and pine, glue, nails, staples, half inch axles and easy rolling wheels, you will need a parking brake and sun protection, and make sure you build in little compartments for baby supplies and ice water to drink....you will have more fun than you could imagine, been there and going again!!

I would wait about 2 to 3 years so he enjoy what he has. Not that it ain't a nice gift its just a little early to give it to him.
I gave a bike to grandson before he was big enough to ride it an it was abig mistake.

I see them on Ebay, but they don't go real cheap, and probably not much more expensive then the new made in China plastic ones. Just pick your favorite color of farm tractor and do a search, you'll find them. Maybe even search by "peddle farm tractor" and find them all at once in most colors. Good luck, and congratulations.

Hey, I know they're a little big, but a couple of weeks ago I saw a fully restored Cleatrac under Oliver and a couple of M's under AC and they got at least two peddles each and not real big tracks. I know, I know, they're a little bigger than you were planning on, but they aint all that big and one of them would make him the talk of the the neighborhood kids, and parents now that I think about it as he tears through their yards and houses and stuff. Gotta start them out on the right path while they're young. Just trying to help, and it is getting to be thee season and all. Grin.

i found this one on ebay for $40 and only 3 miles away from me. i restored it last year for my 4yr old son. i would say start looking now for a good one at a decent price. but wait a few years to give it to him so he can enjoy it.
