Had a fine large day yesterday. Monday I went to scrap yard and bought 15,2x2x1/4 angle irons about11' long. marked and drilled holes in 11' pieces and then cut 5&1/2' pieces and welded on to make them long enough. Saturday morning I went to Muscatine and picked up mexican Bob and we started in. Marked and drilled rest of each piece(8 total) and put on,drilled and fastened to bin. Got that done about 2 and then patched 2 small holes, drilled and put bolts in holes where screws had been and cut opening to make door fit and drilled and bolted it in. Need to do a little magic on the door and lots of caulking. Want to lay aireation tubes on the floor, but the guy I'm getting them from has everything but the transition, has to have one made then I can put that in and start filling. Just want to get done. Chris

Some Wire Brushing and a Coat of Galvalume and it will look good as new. Lots of work wasn't it?BTDT. I moved four of them[18'] from a Government Bin Site in the late 1960's.JC

J.C. in AZ - You mentioned "putting a coat of galvalume" on. Is this a spray on? Does it stay good over galvalume? Have a 60' X 100' building very similar to the one in the background of super99's photo. Great building, about six years old. Have a few spots that maybe should be coated in a year or two. What do you recommend? Thanks! bob f.

Bob: I used to buy Galvalume [looks like Alumunum Paint to me] at Blains Farm & Fleet in 5 Gal Buckets. I used an Air Less Sprayer with long Spray Wand[4'] so I could work from the Ground, keep all Vehicles couple hundred feet away, wear old Coveralls,go to Paint Store and get a Painters Bacclava[looks like a Head Covering for Winter wear]to protect you from Neck up, wear a wide Brim Hat ,old Shoes and Gloves and go to it. Important:: MIX VERY WELL==Strain Paint very well==When Pail is 3/4 empty stop and open new one==When near thru, mix all open Pails together and Strain and Mix very well before useing this Paint up and you will have a very nice job. This Paint has lots of Solids and other heavy Elements which will clog your Spray System if proper care is not taken initially.
