Looking to mix my own feed for layers and broilers but cannot find any supplements to add to my own grain and soy meal. Know of any?

I put down 7.50 for a bag of layer pellets , the clerk said they cost 9.35 now.One week increase.Better get mixing. My hens will winter over on local grown oats at half the price. They dont produce many eggs in jan feb.My mother kept a few hens. She cooked scrap meat and vegetables on the wood cook stove during cold months for them.Fed some mash the rest of the year.

Been grinding our feed for years now.We use whats called commercial supplement.Same stuff for pigs.Label on the bag givves the breakdown.Been using it for so long I don't even look at the tag anymore, but I think the ratios were for a ton.Had to do some math and get it figured down to a smaller amount(dont have that many chickens)One bag of supplement to 4 bags of ear corn to 30-40 lbs. of oats + 7-8 lbs. of feed grade lime.A batch lasts us a month.Get the supplement at Agway.

Are you looking for a packaged vitamin / mineral supplement?

Distiller's grains may be available from elevator/mill and have a high protein value.
I have mine custom made at a local elevator and that's one of the ingediants we use to make about a 20% mash

Try Fertrells (? spelling). I and many others use hog 40% concentrate in formulating poultry rations. Cheap, available most everywhere & VERY comparable to poultry specific concentrates.
