Just got finished reading all these posts about this combine, do you mean to tell me you are going to do all this work and spend all that money on a machine that won't be worth fifty bucks when you are finished.....I have hay to mow so I better see if that hand start B and #5 mower will start in this cold weather,so I can combine beans with my old 45 round back this afternoon...some people must have time and money on their hands..... I am so envious, a machine with a cab, congrats old pard!!!!! Animal

Allan clearly has more money than he does sense...

BUT! I can understand the sentiment behind his purchase. Nostalgia is a powerful thing, and I think he's doing his best to recapture the past. There's something admirable about that.

I know the feeling. My Dad had a AII baldwin he bought new in 67. I and he both loved that combine.

A few years ago I was back home in KS and it just happened a neighbor's estate was being auctioned. It wasn't the combine Dad owned but he had a CII of the same vintage that ran and didn't look all that bad, even had a cab and parts of the Air conditioner. It brought 135.00. If I had lived closer or had a way to move it, It would have at least brought more with me bidding on it. Sigh.

You never see a combine sitting in front of a psychiatrist's office...

I can't imagine how neat it must feel to get some of your old stuff back after you lost it in such a rough way, even if ya got to dump a pile of money in to it! I can't wait to see how this whole deal plays out! Knowing you, I'd say you'll be using it by next season.

Hi Luke,

It feels just like running into an old girlfriend that you haven't seen in years and years.

She's older, more wrinkles and ya can really tell that life has been hard on her. She's been "used up". The "goodie" is gone.

However, ya love her just the same as ya always did. :>)

I think one of 2 things will happen:

1) he passes out 5 days from now due to having no sleep and too much caffeine, but it ALMOST kinda runs!

2) It"ll never get finished because he cant bring himself to slice up another combine for parts

Well, have fun and good luck!!! :-)
