I recently purchased a 490 four row corn planter. I was in very good condition with little rust and was told it planted fine a few years ago. I am having some issues with the power lift and trip levers. When I am pulling the planter and pull the lever forward, nothing happens. I am new to the power lift thing. I am used to lifting a planter with the hydros in the cab of the tractor and watching the planter raise and lower. What should I be watching for to correct this problem?

The trip for that planter will work if you are in motion are the chains on the transport wheels. Do you have a manual for it so you can make the correct setting for population. You can also make the lift hy but you would need to find one and that wont be easy to do. We planted tons of A with B FARMALL pulling. Was a great rig to operate nice an quiet easy to turn ect. I have some plates if you need some.
