If you use the internet for work applications. Satellite internet will NOT work with VPN software....

Scotty

I have been with Comwavz microwave system since February and am very satisfied with it. Microwave is a good alternate to satellite and costs much less. I download at more than 600KPS.
You can Google "microwave internet, your state" to get more information.
More systems are becoming available. I also have my television with them and cost for both is about $73.00 per month and setup and equipment was free... Gene

Scotty,
We have been with Hughesnet since 2003 and have had good service. Of course in stormy weather it gets somewhat out of sorts until it passes. Overall we would give it a 95 out of 100 rating. Several different plans are offered, personally use the professional plan @ 69.00 per month and worth everbit. We also live in rural Mississippi without cable or dsl.

Used them till I lost my mind and let local Electric Membership Coop convince me to go to Wild Blue they were pushing. Have to say except for their tech support being somewhat crappy and almost non-english speakers Hughes was good. Avoiding Wild Blue satellite would be wise for my part.

Thanks for the comments. I am getting up my courage to sign up. They are offering $100 rebate. Of course I have to buy $400 worth of equipment so they can provide service. There is something wrong with that! Hey, tell ya what, Buy a lawn mower and I'll cut your grass for x amount.
But, in this case I don't know of any better alternative. Hate to wait...
