I put a head gasket on an 860 Ford tractor abaot a year ago and had some tiny bubbles around it when the motor got hot. I have been thinking about re-doing the job and with some information I got from this site, I used a head gasket before that I got at a Ford dealership. I was in NAPA last week and the man in there that I know very well and knows tractors says their gaskets are much better in quality than those from Ford. What do you think.

Check archives. People have posted about the bubbles. Some said that the carbon build-up will plug and seal the leak without you having to do anything new to it.

Maybe, maybe not. Don't know squat about Fords, but I've bought head gaskets from an IH dealer and from the local NAPA. Both gaskets were identical, same manufacturer's name stamped right on the gaskets.

I would bet that both use more than one supplier so what you get today might be different from what you get next month.

Haave you re-torqued the headbolts when it's warm?

Then, reset the valve clearances.
