Anyway its not that big - only six lugs and a 305.
But how much is too much?? I have been pulling a skid loader weighing in at 7500 lbs. I go really slow. The door tag isn't legible. Who's got input?

I didn't realize that there were K-2500 out ther with 6 lug wheels the only ones I have seen have 8 lug wheels I have a 2004 Silverado Crew cab And it has 8 lug wheels but doesn't have full floaters. & is rated to tow 9400 lbs

Chris,

You don't say if this is a truck or suburban but you can go to edmunds.com and enter the year model (or close to it) and you can get towing capacity info you need. If you find the GVW of your truck, then subtract the curb weight of the truck, your trailer weight and any other "junk" you have onboard or in the bed and the result will be the safe weight you can carry on the trailer. I would guess that the 7500#'s is close to, or over, the safe capacity of your vehicle--especially if you're using a bumper hitch trailer instead of a gooseneck. Another concern--if you don't have trailer brakes (that work properly), you're basically an accident waiting to happen.

6 hole wheel tells me that is a light duty 2500 without the full floater axle. Heavy mounted campers or heavy bumper hitch trailers are death to the axle shafts and bearings. My salvage yard owner buddy pointed that fact out to me one day, saying that a full floater axle assy from the HD model is good property, as most owners that have gone through several sets of light duty axles and bearings are really eager to swap in the near bullet proof full floater axle assy.
