Help me settle a disagreement about where the US flag is to be carried on a tractor during a parade. We have a tradition here to carry both the US flag and the TX state flag on our tractors. One older couple always puts the US flag on the left side. What I read is that the US flag always goes on the right. Which way is correct US flag on right or left? I always put mine on the right.

US Flag etiquette, though there is no "LAW" always has the US Flag at the right of the speaker. Thus right side is correct. Here is a picture another YTmag person took of my Ferguson TE-20 during a parade in Dover Ohio this year. I fly the union Jack as I have an English built tractor.

Actually, Jeff-oh, there is a law - United States Code, Title 4, Chapter 1 is entitled The Flag, and goes into great detail concerning how the flag must be displayed. Here's a link to a good site - the text of the USC is at the very bottom of the page: Link.

OK - I've exceeded my "pickiness limit" for the day third party image

"PeavyTx" [quote:2c4f15d42b] Texas is the only state flag that should be flown at the same height as OLD GLORY. Agreed on when Texas joined the Union. Peavy[/quote:2c4f15d42b]

That is untrue. An old wives tale.

Always told right side and the US flag should be just alittle higher than any other flag.

After 9/11/01 we wanted to display Old Glory on our ambulances here where I volunteer. We checked with our local state representative's office & were told that the US flag goes on the right side.
