Yep a 27V, I'm jealous, paid 50 for mine and you have better paint. You are missing the release and the cylinder mounting looks customized. The cylinder you have on it actually mounted in front of the axle on an H or M tractor and had a rod running back to the mower. One hell of a cobble job, gotta wonder what they were drinking for lunch in engineering.

Nothing wrong with the cylinder the way it is, that was one of the options to lift it. I put a cylinder on mine the same way only mine is a bigger one and the bracket is homemade. Works just great, cut about 30 acres with it.

I agree with the others that it"s a 27 IH. Many people call them the "A frame" mower. There were probably hundreds if not thousands of those around where I grew up in SW ND. Seem to be a pretty good mower, I know of a couple people that still use them.

Most have switched to haybine, double 9" mowers, or at the very least a pitmanless 9" mower over the last several years.

It is a #27; I ran one for many acres on thehome farm located on the Montana-North Dakota border.
PS: It is spelled "sickle".
I have a manual if you need info.

It's an IH, not sure of the model number, maybe 27, but I had one like it. Good pitman type mower.
