I have a MF 65 in fair condition that I like a lot. needs a bit of brake work and a new ignition, but otherwise runs good. I really like the tractor - but would like one with a front end loader. Would it be less costly and easier to trade the MF 65 for a comparable tractor with a loader - or can I put a front end loader on this one (at less or equal costs). I have not seen comparable tractors (with loaders) selling for less than $4500 to $6000 in my area.

You will have to have power steering. I put a loader on a Ferguson 40 which is similar. Tryed for awhile without power steering, had to put power on it.

The Massey 65 might be prone to steering and axle parts bending and breaking. My neighbour's completely wrecked his, however he was very hard on it as it did log work around his sawmill.

About 4-5 years ago I paid $5000 for a low hour, 65 with a good loader on it. I had to add power steering. People have found units for less but I would rather have this one with what I have in it, than be looking to replace it. If you buy a loader, then your only new worry is the loader. If you buy both you have two things to get familiar with.
