Going to try to start my 11 month old sons 1918 Aultman Taylor 30-60 for the first time in 12 years. Man that gas smell is something else. I think it would make great mosquito and wife repellant. Anyone want a bottle?

I can remember when your Dad had that tractor.I talked to him on the phone a time or two.

The 30-60 AT has always been among my favorites of the Prairie Giants.

Thanks for the compliments. I went ahead and sent the tank in to get dipped and ligned after noticing a leak. The tractor in the picture is not a 30-60. It is a 22-45 or maybe a 25-50. If I was to say we had one of those also in the past, it would be considered bragging. :) Kicking around doing a story with pictures of how to go about starting and performing maintenance on the ol gal so my son will have it, Maybe I will share with YT readers.

Well now I'm confused you are standing in front of what looks like a fully restored tractor at a show and your buddy says that you have it in your garage for the last 12 years. You must have a very big garage to get that into it. It looks to be more than 12 ft. high with the exhaust pipe sticking up out the back.
Is that your tractor or one like your tractor or is there something just wrong here.
Walt

Walt mine is the 30-60 that is painted blue. That picture was taken about 20 years ago. Yep it is big.

I for one can say Chance's R's tractor is sitting in a building where it hasn't moved in a long while for I have seen it.

Good luck getting her started let us know the outcome.

One thing I notice, is the color of the tank on the fender. The one in your picture is the same as the rest, and the one in his is red.

I'm also pretty sure his picture is more than a couple years old judging by the overall looks of the picture.

you are sure right about that gas smell. changed a fuel shut-off valve on ford 801 today & was amazed @ the smell, and tractor had not set that long. I repaired the engine on a IH 1900 truck once that had twin saddle tanks full of old fuel, we thought we could drain some & mix with new, won't even run on it. congrats on your tractor-i'm happy for you & your son.

Please don't get discouraged because someone took the opportunity to be a jerk. You don't have to explain or defend owning the machine - and it looks wonderful. I really enjoyed seeing your A-T and would like to see more.

that's a bit over the edge.

He's had it since 1973 and bragging is a right.

Walt
First of all I am NOT bragging.
This tractor has been in the familly since 1973 and he is the third owner and I hope he passes it on to his son someday. I have noticed that its getting to the point around here its almost best not to post anything to keep people from trying to start trouble. I always figure if you dont have anything good to say dont say anything at all.

Does it smell good or bad? Would I need a mixer or could I just take it on the rocks?
