I do mostly mowing and some discing here in S. Calif. I take on hand work with my weed eaters when things are slow, or can't use my tractors.I looked at this area that needed mowing, was too steep for my tractor, so I decided to do it by hand by my self. It was also very hot. I usually have help. I figured about 3 hrs. By the time I finished I was about wore out, had to stop about every 10 min for a little rest, toward the end. Just turned 65. Does this happen ot any others around this age? Stan

Hang in there Chief, you are OK. Just in the last year my work rate has been severly cut into because of a bad knee. It really stresses you out if you aren't careful. An old man on his 100 birthday was interviewed by local TV reporter who ask what kind of day he was having, to which he replied "at my age, any day above ground is a good one." Tom

You're in better shape than I am if you made it to that age before it happened! I sold my dairy cattle 4 years ago. Without them keeping me going,I get winded walking to the mailbox.

stinking blood pressure medicine hits me hard if I try working full tilt in the morning, everything is fine until the stuff kicks in and suddenly I just want to lie down on the ground for a bit

too stubborn to do that so I just find some shade and let the system readjust and then go back at it again

gotta stay out of that rocking chair, those things will kill you faster than Osama Bin Lardin

You're not getting old -- just beat from the hot weather. I get the same way when I weedeat a fence row but usually take a cooler of Fresca or water on ice and take regular breaks. The weeds will wait and don't have to be mowed until you, the boss, say they will. Relax, I'm 70 and still going strong and like one writer said, it beats the alternative. Hang in there.

Once I complaiend to a much older buddy that when I woke up I was a lil stiff for a while, to which he responed....."GET USED TO IT, OLD AGE AINT FOR SISSYS" lol

If you're over 50 and dont wake up with a few aches n pains, ITS CUZ YOURE DEAD

My great Grandma used to tell me to be kind to old folks cuz YOU WILL GET OLD SOMEDAY ALSO IF YOU LIVE LONG ENOUGH

When they asked Hubey Blake on his 100th birthday the secret of his long life, he responded..... ."If I knew I was gonna live this long, I would have taken better care of myself"

Heck, I'm only a few dys away from 37, and 4 trips up and down the outside of the Silo Monday made my arse and legs so sore I felt like I was in an accident. When I was 17 I could do it a dozen times a day in 1/2 the time and never had an ache. Darned wife wants me to make that a daily exercise routine. Hmm, drive 7 miles to work out on a silo, Does she want me in healthy, or is she already spending that life insurance?

At 63 YES. Ususally I find that I've let myself get dehydrated, if I can drink enough water thru the job it isn't as bad.

Naw! you need to eat better. I'm 69 and going strong.

If you are getting real tired after a short workout then I would see my doctor and have him check you out.
I was digging a small ditch and got real tired and it turned out to be a real bad heart attack I didn't go right in and it almost killed me.
