It took 3 hrs to drive this thing home about 8 miles. It will top out at almost 4 MPH. We spent most of the time trying to adjust the drive clutches so it would drive straight without pulling to the left. I guess that will be the first thing that we work on as the rest seems to be pretty good on it.
Some one replaced the wood on the pickup wheel with steel I'm wondering if it should be taken back to wood or not. Maybe just get some of that fancy paint stuff and paint them to look like wood. Its an IHC (made in Canada) model 201 Ser. # H-5420
Paid $400 for it did we do good or get robbed. Walt

I remember one of those setting behind our ford tractor dealership when I was a kid, must have been in for repair work or something, funny to see one here though, remembered that red one all these years, looked like a combine to me back then, yours looks just like what I remember too, and about the same condition.

Just finished looking to see if I still had a manual for that, but I guess not. We had one of those, we liked it better than the 175 which we also had. The first time you go down a hill should be interesting, give yourself lots of room. You will find that when you need to steer on a downhill grade that you pull the opposite lever to let it roll/catch up. That's also where that counterweight comes in, as they are pretty light in the tail. BTW, I'm pretty sure that with the proper belts and adjustment you should be able to reach a breathtaking 6 mph.

I always thought I`d like to have somthing like that but I`ve never seen any around here ( S.E. Indiana ) , The hay ground around here runs from flat row crop ground to pertnear to step fer a Billy Goat . I`ve seen in your pictures you have some rolling ground too , be sure to let us know how it rides the side hills . That sure will help out on the kink in the neck and back from lookin back where ya just came from all day !! I`d say it could get a bit dusty in the over ripe stuff but I like it !!

Hey, that's a pretty modern swather, compared to how you made it sound in your first post!

I just got one, too, in MUCH worse shape, though!

Yeah!

No, actually I don't have it home yet. The engine is stuck, and one front tire is missing.

I want it for the engine, which I HOPE will be repairable, to make a "Super "A" on steroids"!

Next time I go past it's soon-to-be former home, I'll snap a picture to PROOVE how tough it looks!
