I need an expert!!! I was mowing with my farmall B and it just stopped. Gas was ok but could not get a spark. Cleaned and set points and still not spark. I took the Bosch magneto apart and all looks fine. How do I test the coil to see if its good. I checked the resistance to the iron core and bot the spark lead and the one to the points show O ohms. To me this sounds like a dead short inside. Any help on how to test the coil would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not an expert. You would get a reading if the ground wire was attached to the core. The coil can be tested by going between the spark lead and the points lead and ground lead. If your coil tests to ground with out the wire hooked up the coil is shorted. An open in the coil will be no reading between any of the terminals. Have you tried a new condenser? Ron Mn.
