The state pulled their grain license, gave them a week to sell the business which they did. All grain contracts are void. Fertilizer customers that prepaid will get 75% of what they prepaid. All the grain storage and farm delivery people will get paid by the grain insurance fund, about $2.7 million. Unsecured creditors will get nothing. It appears that A-Way LLC will or has filed bankruptcy.

Corn is $3.80 and wheat is $7.59 this morning in Texhoma, OK.

Wheat got up to $7.85 cash a few days ago, but that was as high as I saw it.

And to think that I just "buried" some of that high priced wheat in the ground a week ago. :>(

Guess I'd better get the truck around and haul the rest to town.

Wheat is odd - it is high priced _now_, but next year's crop price is not so hot. They are buying acres. Few have any wheat left to sell in the bins.

Bidding acres for next year with a big carrot for this year, but less reward for actually planting more wheat.....

Going to be interesting to see what corn & beans do - acre bidding war there too, or will the govt/ South America step in with plans that dash it all to heck?

I'm thinking like you Paul...it's an acreage war all the way. The wheat market might fool some folks...but next year's price isn't at all competitive yet...needs a couple more dollars in there.

John am I reading that you have to take there basis off that price you quoted us,

If not you guys got a heck of a bid.

The price I quoted is what would end up with in my pocket if they picked up on my farm.

No, the basis number is just there for information. The cash bid to the farmer in Paxton at this very minute is Corn-$3.33, Beans-$9.28.

Our CIF bid will kick IA bid every day unless barge freight gets real cheap.
