Put LP heads on a gas tractor. Should I set the timng to the LP spec or the gas spec? Thanks.

I went from a multifuel head (4-1) to an LP head (8-1) on my case LA I run it at 30 degrees at full Advance with no trouble.

You are going to have to feel out the timing. Advance it until it pings accerating under full load and back it off a but until it never pings. That's as much advance as you can use. At part trottle it can handle more advance and needs it for economy but without a vacuum advance you have to set it at full throttle acceleration full load and take the poorer performance at part throttle.

Since he is running LP head on a gas, and I am assuming he is running gas, would you not have to time it to some new spec. Should/might ping on gas with higher compression, if using LP spec. LP is higher octane rating is it not?

Retard timing if you hear it ping!

If not a dual fuel system, time to LP specs. Gap your plugs to LP spec, too.

Wait!! Are you going to burn LP or gasoline? Use specs that match the fuel.
