NORTHFIELD,Minn.(AP)-A Northfield man was killed Saturday in an accident on the family farm.

Bradley Hohrman and his brother-in law were unloading a silage wagon by hand when the tractor attached to the wagon started to roll forward,Rice county authorities said.

Both men jumped out of the wagon and tried to stop the tractor, but Hohrman slipped as he reached toward the steering wheel and was run over by tractor's rear wheel and two wagon tires, said Sgt. Bill Skarupa.

Hohrman was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before noon.

This is another type of accident people should be aware of...A man was hauling a long pole behind his tractor the pole had been hooked to a boom pole and was balanced. He took off down the road in high gear and the pole started to rock from one end to the other. Before he could slow down, the end toward the tractor dug into the dirt which caused the pole to flip over and hit the driver. He was killed too.

Sounds kinda like what the neighbors son did one time. I had rented the farm and was down there plowing. I guess he thought he was helping. He came out with his mothers Ford 600 and a short chain. Hooked to an old dead apple tree and proceded to pull it right down between the seat and fender of the tractor before I could stop him. Luckily all it did was knock his hat off. I thought I was about to see somebody die for sure.

Very sad. He was probably at the prime of his life and was building his career. We have all done stuff like that and gotten away with it. His family has my prayers. Jim
