I am looking for a little help identifying my VAC case type and year. I have have done some research on my tractor and have not found any that look quite like it. It appears to be a row crop model, based on the rear tires, so I thought it might be a VAC - 13. However, I read somewhere that the serial numbers for the VAC - 13 start at 5570000. My serial is VC4518665. It has a wide front, but it does not look like a factory front. It almost looks like it came off a Ford Model A (although I doubt it did.) The engine is a flat head, appears to be smaller than other models I've seen, and the exhaust pipe comes through the sheet metal, not around it. the sheet metal is in three parts and the rear and center pieces have a chrome strip on each side. Any info is much appreciated.

Should be a 1941. take the 1st 2 numbers and subtract 4. VC4518665=1941.

Hey, thanks for the help. I bought the tractor 15 years ago when I was 18 and it was advertized as a VAC. I see now it is not. We farm up in Cromwell, Minnesota, and my kids are getting old enough to start using a tractor so we are working on getting this one up to speed (the JD 60 is a little to big for them right now). I need to find some rear rims and a way to fix the gas tank for starters. Any advice is much appreciated.

What you appear to have is not a VAC, but a VC, it"s predecessor. The VC is visually similar, but shared almost no parts with the later VAC. The flathead engine is the giveaway. If I"m not mistaken, it"s an F-124 Continental, and the VAC has an OHV of the same displacement, built for Case by Continental.
