You would think that they could at least get the proper name and spelling for items for sale. Example horse drawn "cycle" bar instead of sickle bar or Fairbanks "Morris" instead of Fairbanks Morse. Pretty pathetic if you ask me and unprofessional considering the $100 bidder registration. Looks like a lot of junk but some nice vehicles. Dave

I've been to a Kruse auction. Besides the fees their minimum bids start at $25 for the junk stuff, it takes AT LEAST 30 minutes per person to check out and the majority of the items were (no surprise)NO SALE.

Some nice stuff and some rusty junk. In my neck of the woods there would be some bargins at an auction like this. There would be about 3 serious buyers and 2 junk men and they would all agree not to bid against each other. Or else it would all sell to the auctioneers buddies for cheap and he would make his money not on the buyers commission but on the pay off afterward. Basically, around here, no one would attend. Maybe things are different if you can attract the yuppie crowd.

Looks like an auctioneer that is full of himself, the first time I am asked to pay to attend an auction will be the last time you will see me at their auction. That is one auction that I would not go to, $100.00, plus $15.00 then another 15%, I guess I would be like the little boy at the circus, I would have to look at the circus/auction from outside the fence.

Must not be a farm auction like any I've ever been to. Most guys I know would have to make sure they had enough money for gas to get there & back. Breaks over, going back out to shock corn.

It's not for the faint at heart. Three full days of stuff. I think you can buy an annual card for Kruse for $250 and it gets you permanent bidder number and access to all sales and a annual results book. Mr. Brandon has a huge amount of stuff - I've enjoyed over the years going up his fly-in Anique Car Show and am amazed at the amount of stuff he has.

I also go to sales occasionally mostly car sales and it's not uncommon to have bidders fees and buyer's premiums. I just try and factor that in - due to the large amount of stuff, I'm thinking there could be some bargains.

I just posted this because I thought there might be some folks here that could have an interest or be looking for something like this - don't want to offend.

I don"t think you offended anyone. I think its the idea of the seller and auctioneer getting greedy that stirred things up. Around here the auctioneers would go broke if they did that. I suspect with the poor condition of the farm equipment there the fees will be a negative for them... few if any bidders for scrap iron. The cars are a little different story but I would still disagree with the premiums. I/we do appreciate people posting sales and auctions. Can"t read or find every sale-bill that comes out.

Dropped by the sale today - I think they had a pretty good turnout. Talked to a fellow down where the old old farm stuff was you'll see some pics from there and he seemed to think things brought decent money - he was accumulating a trailer full of stuff.

Feel free to take a look at the link - my batteries were down on my camera but you still should get a feel for the action.

It should be interesting - clearly the $100 fee is meant to weed out the sightseers.

I'm probably going to skip the tractor stuff and go on Saturday for the cars.

I doubt Kruse will be going broke anytime soon or Mr. Brandon. Check Kruses home page.

The first time I am required to pay an entry fee, or pay a buyers premium, will also be the last time I attend ANY of that auction companys events.
