I cleaned the sediment bowl and screen out on my tractor. Put it back togather and now after turning gas back on it seeps out the top of the glass bowl by the screen. It now drips constant, and doesnt quit unless I shut the gas off. I really dont know what is causing it. Anyone know?

I find it best to put a new rubber gasket in every time I clean the sediment bowl. The old one never seems to fit right. I think the gasoline makes the rubber expand because it never fits into the shutoff housing after I remove it. I just buy a bunch of gaskets and keep them on hand. Make sure it is tight enough and seated straight. On my Cases the tightening nut is a soft metal and it is easy to strip those threads so tighten it but be careful.

Did you tighten the cinch nut with a pair of pliers? Ya really gotta crank 'em down.

Hand tight is not enough.

Check the glass bowl in the gasket sealing area for a minuet stress crack. Pretty common, from over tightening + vibration.

If it quits after turning the valve shut you mite need to tighten the nut on the shut-off lever. You can get a new rubber gasket at NAPA for a buck. Take the old one along so you get the right size. Dont over tighten the round thingy on the bottom of the sediment bulb too tight you can distort it then a new gasket wont seal either make sure you get a rubber one from NAPA.

Twist the glass bowl back and forth just a little bit as you tighten it back up. It sometimes helps the bowl seat to the gasket a little better. Good luck. Oh yes, while you're at NAPA get two gaskets because you never know----- --.

Get a new gasket that sets between the glass bowl and the sediment bowl housing.
