on the lifeless 7hp briggs in my snapper. I am taking a great, reliable 11hp briggs out of my wheelhorse and puttin it in the snapper.

I got it out of the WH without a hitch, but I cant figure out how to get the one out of the snapper. Can anyone help me here? Thanks in advance.

It will fit, we have done lots of fun mods here. Friend has a old lawn mower running a yamaha 225 3 wheeler engine, does about 50mph , you can do anything with a welder, torch and imagination,, Have fun and be careful,,Jim

Lanse don't remove the disk off the 7 hp until you get it off and measure the distance from the flat surface where the engine rests as you will have to put it on the 11 hp at the same distance so the clutch will work hope this got to you in time

First, observe wireing connections. Label if necessary.
Drain oil out. Stand Snapper upright. Clutch disk on bottom of crankshaft has to be removed. There is a setscrew holding it in place and I think a keyway with key. Loosen setscrew and tap clutch disk back and forth to loosen on shaft. Remove disk. Loosen bolts holding engine on frame, remove gas line, wireing, and throttle connections and lift engine out the top. You may have to take the sliding clutch assembly out to get the disk down off the shaft. Its been a while since I did this so I may have details confused, but that is the general approach. I don't know about the 11 hp going in a 7 hp application problem. You will have to figure that out on your own.

11 hp will not fit into most 7 hp applications.

I put an 11 hp in place of a 7 once, had to rotate it around and such because the head would hit the steering shaft if I put it in the same way. also had to cut a bit out of the hood extend the throttle and choke cable wires, etc.
your application might vary.

Measured? As in mount bolt pattern, crankshaft diameter/length? If you have a drill and welder you can do some interesting swaps. I replaced a 7hp Briggs flathead with a 12 hp OHV Tecumseh in a old Simplicity. RN.

I dropped a 18hp Briggs Vangard V-Twin in a Deere 140 in place of the origional 1 cylinder Kohler. If it"ll fit in the hole, and you have imagination.....
