Thanks for all the nice comments on the photos and the area. The whole of the County of Pembrokeshire's coastline is a National Park, so new building is severly restricted. This means that existing houses command a premium price - usually bought as holiday homes by rich city people. A 3 bedroom house with sea view in this area is $1 million plus!
Yes it would be great to have a sea view, but there are some disadvantages. Firtsly its the the constant salt laden wind off the sea. This salt will rust out vehicles, cover your window glass, and mean you have to repaint your house every 3 to 4 years. We live 1/2 mile inland and are prtected from the wind by trees. Its only a few minutes walk down to the coast which we do several times a week for exercise & relaxation.
This "view" from Google Earth shows the area where we live. Dinas Island is connected to the mainland by a marshy istmus, rises from sea level to 465 feet above sea level. Island Farm is some 300 acres of south facing farmland, the outer edges is rough cliff land, total area is some 600 acres.
The SA42 0SU is our zip code, and we live where the "S" is in a small village called Dinas which stradles the coast road. In the distance 3 miles away is the town & harbour of Fishguard where there is a ferry over to Southern Ireland.
