I've got a 4010 JD that had an M&W turbo charger added on. I think the charger is about shot and wanted to change it back to its origional form. While I know I need to get an origional exhaust manafold, is anyone aware of any other parts I will need? And, does anyone know how much of an effort/work it will take to complete the job of returning it to origional form?

Early or late M&W? Does the exhaust come out the hole in the hood where the muffler was originally? If not then you will have to patch the hood. Plug the hole where the oil line comes off the oil galley and plug the return oil hole.Remove the oil filter.Remove the manifold and turbo. Then replace the air cleaner pipe to the intake manifold. That and the coupler hose and exhaust maifold gaskets and a muffler and clamp are the only other parts you will need.I would use new manifold bolts too. Thats about it.You shouldn't have a problem getting $400-$500 for it.Don't ask my why , but there is a big demand for those old M&W turbos. Now what have I forgot?

Injector pump may have to be reset, the 4010 kits had a different torque spring as part of the kit.It may overfuel if the charger is removed and the pump isn't set back.

I've often thought about doing the same thing, my 4010 had one and now my 4020 has one. They're great when they work. You might find its cheaper to just take the charger off and have it rebuilt.

I've often thought about getting one of those for my 806 Farmall if someone knows of any around. Sure would make it run that Disc Mower better (faster).
