We went two months without enough rain to count. Last week or so, got about 3". Hopefully enough to jumpstart the second cuttings on hay that I cut early summer... Like first week in June! Everything here is in drought conditions. Corn, soys, hay that wasn't irrigated looks pathetic. Yields will be way low. Don't even know if I'll hace enough to try for a second cutting.

There is hay on the ground around here that was mowed on 11th of August.

Will never get baled as the new growth is about 12" tall.

Understand perfectly, I have the same luck. I work full time so only have the evenings and Sundays with every other Saturday off to try and get the little bit of grass hay I put up done. I think I have burned about as many windrows this year as I have been able to get baled. I sell the best of it to a friend of mine for their horses, but they are picky, so feed most of it to my wifes horses. Guess you know what I mean, can"t have ANYTHING wrong with the hay or could make the horses sick.

I hope we're not getting in to a situation here. Been waiting 2 months for rain for hay to grow, now foercast doesn't look good for mid week. Gonna be backed up in to silo filling trying to bale hay if we ain't careful.Got about 150 acres of hay to cut,so it won't happen overnite.
