Please say a few prayers for the folks down there. It's pretty bad right now, gonna get worse. I'm high and dry here , cant imagine what they are going through. Hopefully no deaths result.

Thanks again Scott. Finally heard back from my sister and they're OK. Didn't know this, but she said their little farm is on one of the highest points in Fillmore Co. Said if they got flooded, it would be time to start building the ark. Also said there are a few small towns that are virtually gone.

Yeah we had a level two at work last night in Owatonna MN. They had to evacuate the Microtel Inn last night at about 1 o"clock. In some spots of the parking lot it was 3" deep.

How far west and south? My sister lives a couple miles south of Harmony. Tried calling her, but not getting an answer. Would like to hear any news.

The area south of Harmony according to radar didn't get hit to bad around 4 inches. I'am sure she's fine in that area its just several phone lines were cut from mud slides to the east and north so phone service is spotty. Just listening to the scanner and they are rescuing someone in rushford thru a hole in the roof. The water has stopped coming over the dikes but now there is no electricity to run the pumps to pump out the water from the city. The call went out to farmers with manure pit pumps and several have showed up. I listened to a call to a state official about getting gensets and pumps. He said he would see what he could find, seems the government does not work on Sunday. Someone suggested to the seriffs office to call Ziegler a large Cat dealer. Gensets and pumps were on the way within the hour.

I live near Preston, MN, and you might say we lucked out a bit only 4 inches. Much of the area to the north and east of us had 6 to 12 inches over a widespread area. Been listening to the scanner all morning and its bad in the town of Rushford along the Root river. They have still rising water going over their levy system that was built for a 200 year flood. No phone or electrical service in much of houston, winona, and eastern fillmore counties because of massive mud slides. The town of Stockton was wiped out last night. People on house roofs and all roads under water. There was some heroic rescues by boat. Thank god so far no news of any deaths. Several other valley towns were evacuated by bus and large truck over night. Its still raining here to with rain forecasted for the next several days. I guess I won't be complaining about drought any more! Gotta go and check the creek fences, Later..

I live in south central Mn. between Mankato and Minneapolis and we had nearly 6 in. last night, not a good time in this area either. First the hail in June, then the drought, then high winds that knocked down some corn and now flooding..... ..... .what else.

The company I am a grower for lost a 2 story poultry breeder barn earlier this week due to straight line winds. $500,000 to replace and the owner is almost 60. I have the same barn, I know if mine went down I'd be devastated. Mother Nature must be trying to teach us a lesson this year.

I will Dave. I have lived through a couple bad floods. In 97 half the town of Cynthiana, Ky was under water. Had to have a guy with a hovercraft to rescue folks and deliver medecine as currents were too strong for regular boats. Crippled the whole county as most folks were on city water. I drove to Wilmington Ohio and brought back a trailer load of 1100 gallon water tanks so we could truck drinking water in to town. Unlike New Orleans, the gov't condemned all the low lying land in town and would not let folks rebuild their homes. I really feel for anyone going through this.

I remember the flood in "97 here in Cynthiana. I remember it a little different from you though. Most of the folks got to build back on their property, they just had to raise their homes, which was the smart thing to do anyway. I remember most folks being without water for 3 days, and I remember my father hauling it in from the next county oer, what I don"t remember is all those 1100 gallon tanks, where did they end up when you got them here?
