O/T GM 6.0 Idle adjustment?

Is it possible to adjust the idle speed on an '03 Chevy/GMC pickup with the 6.0 engine?

Mine idles lower than I'd like when in gear, (300 rpm) and tends to stall at slow speeds while stopping and turning.

It idles about 500 rpm in park or neutral with no load. It appears to have an electronic throttle since I see a motor on the throttle body rather than any cables. I haven't dug into it to see if there is a stop for the throttle plate that might could be adjusted.

Anyone know much about these?

If it still idles low after cleaning the TB and MAF,take in to dealer and have the latest flash program installed. ~brad

I had considered cleaning the throttle body, but never thought about the MAF.

I'll sure give both of those a go.

Thanks M & Ken,

L.C.Gray if it has electronic throttle you need to clean the throttle body and blade with carb cleaner and a old tooth brush. get all the carbon off both pieces and it will idle normal.

Try cleaning the mass airflow sensor. It is located in the ducting between the air filter box and throttle body. Remove it from the ducting, spray it with air intake cleaner or carb cleaner. Do not stick ANYTHING inside of it to wipe it with, just let it air dry for a few minutes, reinstall, and you should be idling fine. Worked wonders on my 03 2500HD with 8.1L. Also had much better throttle response.
