200cc 2 stroke. Running until died from what sounded of starving for gas. Will not run now and still sounds like its starving for gas when plug is wet. Will run for 1 sec but dies when given gas. Cleaned carb. Spark, Gas, compression? What else could be wrong with it? My expert says maybe reeds. Im thinking rebuild carb. Any suggestions? I havent had this for more than 2 months. Help please.

We've got three of those around here. Sounds just like reeds to me.

Reed or crank seal. Either way you are loosing pumping efficency in the crank case. Reeds are an easy fix and 40-60 bucks ....crank seal is basicly a total overahual , as you may as well do the crank rebuild, and ring it at the same time, as you have to split the case to do it properly. Shawn

I have a 1988 - everything original - ervything great -

sometimes if it sets for a few months without a ride it is very hard ot start - basically crappy gas i think - I am still running the original spark plug -

when it is being difficult i have hooked it to the pickup and given it a pull start - sure helps the kick starting leg and it usualy starts rather quickly -

Its been used at least four times each week and last time I drove it, the motor just died. I tryed pull starting by pulling it with my aunts Blaster but it will not fire. Like my expert said; reeds or rings and carb rebuild?
