This is a pump on a 1975 Case 1370 with about 6250 hours. I just got it and it runs real good but there is a slight leak from the manual pump area. You can see the flat ridges on the lower part and it looks threaded but can I tighten this a bit or will I do more harm than good.

Got to agree with Doug. CAT uses the same type pump on some of their equipment and the best thing for one that's leaking is replacement.

I worked for Case many yearsand when the manual pump starts leaking all you can do is replace it.The seals inside the pump are worn out. They are still available thru Cas e and they are not very expensive,so save yourself a headache and just replace it.

Here is the picture...sorry. The manual pump is in the center. Do you think I can tighten this down a bit? Thanks
