Speaking Of Tires..... ... Just heard About This third party image

NEWARK, N.J. - Federal safety officials have ordered a New Jersey tire importer to recall as many as 450, 000 tires that it bought from a Chinese manufacturer and sold to U.S. distributors. Foreign Tire Sales Inc. of Union said an unknown number of the light truck radials it imported since 2002 from Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co., of Hangzhou, China, could suffer tread separation, a problem that led to the nation's largest tire recall in 2000. The tires at issue were sold under at least four brand names - Westlake, Compass, Telluride and YKS.

Don't know if ya'll heard this or not, but one of the high up people in their govt in China was executed over some of the bad products and mishandlings by some of the companies over there.

I also saw a report on FNC or CNN about the antifreeze in the toothpaste and some of the hogs they were giving illegal drugs to over there. The farmer was asked if he knew this would hurt people and he said yes, but what do I care, the people in the city have free health care. Think Michael Moore is listening?

Seems to me a lot of Americans have brought a lot of this on themselves. By buying the cheap stuff for so long that now nearly everything is made somewhere else in order to keep prices low. I also seen were they had recalled millions of Fisher Price toys that were made in China with laed based paints and so on. The old saying you get what you pay for is really comming home to roost now.

Are we sure that China isn't silently at war with us? Think about it. They send tainted grain that ends up in pet food, antifreeze in toothpaste, substandard (deadly) tires and other things you hear of almost daily.

My Ford Ranger had those Firestone tires in their last recall. We had trouble with two of them before the recall it blamed on my dof biting them. Turned out to be bad tires but cost me plenty to replace them. then my wife was in no hurry to get the new tires when they rcalled them and I was 1 day late in getting a full refund on 4 tires. they changed the rules that morning and it cost me to get them replaced and only 3 as 1 was not on the list. Live an learn I guess.

The tires on my horse trailer were made in China. They were about 2.5 years old and lost the tread on one. A week later blew a second tire. I called the 800 number on the tire and they shipped me two free tires and are reimbursing me for a 3rd. They would reimburse for the 4th but didn't save the blown tire.

The funny thing is the date code on the tire says that they were manufactured in 2000, which I found out later. Where were they from 2000 to 2004/2005?

Manufacture recalls happen all the time on most types of goods. Anything man touches leaves room for mistakes. As for these Chinese tires it is the same as with US companies recalls, it is only certain lines that are affected so that not every tire carrying that brand is recalled. As for Chinese tires, well I hate doing any business with them. They are our enemy, why support their economy? And for sure they cannot be trusted to be honest. But too many of us want the lowest dollar no matter what we have to compromise to get it, look at Walmart. As for their quality you have to learn who makes good tires and who doesn't. I have yet to find a Chinese tire that will last in over the road use, but they seem to work okay on farm trucks.

US companies have made plenty of substandard tires. Some of the worst tires ever were the Firestone 500 radials made in the late 70's early 80's.I had a set that came on a new 79 Mercury Cougar one blew out at 6,000 miles and the other 3 were worn out at 12,000.Firestone had a huge recall unfortunately mine were not covered in the recall
as sorry as they were.

As much as I hate to admit it, I had a set of the recalled tires on my truck. Circumstances and money warranted it at the time, no money, needed tires bad! I must admit this also, the YKS tires I had wore very well, around 40000 on them and they still looked good when I had them replaced. Got a letter the other day telling me which dealer to go to get my money since the delaer I originally bought them from had closed.Picked up a check not only for the YKS, but the new ones I replaced them with earlier this year.

I read a few weeks ago about a Chinese company that was importing kids 4 wheelers and that they are super unsafe. (so what else is new) How can anybody in the USA expect a bunch of Communists to be interested in the well being of its "customers"

Bottom line is, those folks imported crappy tires from China.. Do you really think they cared if a few people die, due to them.. I doubt it... If that importer goes belly-up, it will set a good example to others , what can happen if they put profits before safety...

Well the Co. Truck I drive has "Longmarch" Tires on it an they are not very good quality. They are made in china. I often wonder what the "Longmarch" stands for. Japan was responsible for the "Batann Death March"But,I wonder if there is a connection? Naw, can't be, China and Japan were never Allies, were they? Any way the shoddy Manufacturing and Processing that this giant of a Country has poured out upon the World is finally coming to haunt them and none to soon,IMHO.
