This is how we bale and ship our hay out here. There are 54 4X4X8 1 ton bales in this stack it is one truck load.

There are hundreds if not thousands of these all over the valley right now.

yep get out west and they hook 2 48 foot trailers together instead of two 28 and a single 48 or 53 that makes 54 ton pretty easy but around here 4x4x8 bales will not weigh a ton usually around 1400

I really don't think that would be a problem, I am not for certain how much these Michigan Trains can legally haul, but I would think 54 ton would be legal, most likely more than that.

Hi Walt: You in the Columbia Basin? I worked a ranch not far from Trinidad for a few years growing up. Started at 12 on a D6 Cat. Still get back out there and yep, there is lots of the big squares there. Sure is a different place with the irrigation canals etc.

They haul that many on a truck with a pup in our area all the time. We get up to 60 hay trucks a day hauling to the central basin area of Washington. It's then compressed and put in containers for shipment to Pacific rim countries.

I'm pretty sure I saw a ford ranger driving down the gravel road last night that had about that much on it....third party imageI'm just kidding, of course, but I wouldn't put it past some of the locals to try.....

When I worked at Fort Ord, CA they hauled Tanks in and out all the time they way just over 60 ton. The biggest trailer I saw had 56 wheels on it. Double goose neck rear setup of wheels had hydraulic turning to get around corners.
