We sprayed our Round Up beans last Friday and I got a call from a friend today asking me what happened to the beans next to his place. My comment was, what the he!! are you talking about? He said you gotta come look at them.Lord,I got over there and they are yellow as squash. What happened.Rate was less than supposed to be cause I was running a little short on chemical anyway.I am at my wits end about this. Can't figure it out.Any help would be appriacted.Guess we will just wait and see if they turn back.By the way the tank has only been used for Round Up.

Thanks Bigun

That happened to me 2 years ago. Got a pallet of mismarked beans. Could tell right to the row where I started with the wrong marked beans.. The seed company tried to say I planted regular beans, but I still had all the empty sacks, and I planted all RR beans that year.. Needless to say, they bought 55 acres of beans. Not to happy, they were, but mistakes do happen. Hold tight with 'em.

Heck of a deal ain`t it. You can`t keep your own seed that you know to be RR, and the dealers are screwing people and then at best replacing seed. What about all the fuel, labor, wear and tear, loss of income... Seed company will sue you in a heart beat, but do their best to weasel out of any responsibility on their or their agents part. They need their clock cleaned in court.

Loss of yield can lead to less govt payments, insurance benifits, etc. for years.

It's a real issue, when a person gets hit like that. Lot of costs, some not so obvious at first.

Class action law suit!!! That may make a lawyer rich, while not getting farmers too much back, but it may keep the seed companies from thinking they control what you produce.

I had that same problem in corn last year. I called the guy that I bought the seed from and got his machine. He showed up a few hours later with his books and a sheepish look on his face. He said "that wasn't Roundup Ready corn". He didn't deliver what I had ordered and payed for! Then he proceded to tell me that the policy on replant was they would only charge me half price! He finally came through with free seed, but it was only RR,not tripple stacked that I had payed a fortune for.it was 50% of my corn crop to boot. Needless to say I got my seed elswhere this year. Check with your seed dealer,I'd bet the farm you didn't get what you payed for.

As Aaron said have you sprayed them already this year? Guy up the road from me ordered all RR corn from one store. All the bagss looked alike. One pallet was mis baged. You could drive down the road and see right where he filled up out of that pallet and where it stoped. Same store that sold him the seed, done the spray'n. Not a good deal. Last I herd the seed company that sacked the seed is going to make good on it the best they can.

2 thoughts. Did you use any AMS or other surfactant? When I was spraying, 2 lbs of AMS would give them a yellowish look. Second thought, have you sprayed them with Roundup already this year? If so, then they are RR beans and I have no idea, if not, are they really RR beans?

Big un, I'm not saying you are doing anything wrong when I say this, but I've always used 2.5 LB of AMS and the beans have never yellowed using weathermax at 22 or 28 oz. Jim

I have not sprayed them this year.I called and left a message for the seed guy, maybe talk to him tomorrow.Yeah I did use a surfactant. The other fields look fine.Think I may have gotten some regular beans instead of RR beans.

Thanks

Bigun
