Does anyone here know anything about growing carrots or lettuce? Which would you grow for market?

What about sunflowers? Where do you get seeds?

Go for the heirloom varieties and you also probably don't want any genetically modified or treated seeds, I HATE those. Try www.rareseed.com, for a good selection of heirloom, untreated seeds. They also do bulk qty. Your future customers will appreciate it. Carrots are good sellers to, but hard to do somewhat because it takes a lot of space to have enough to sell. Lettuce will re-grow for a second or third cut. Carrots, one you pull them, that's it. Lettuce can also be grown in trays, on tables for ease of cutting for the much sought after "baby lettuce" for the chefs and gourmets. Good luck and let me know how you do!

Grow lettuce for market. Johnny's has a good selection of lettuce seed. Fast turnover of crop and it isn't heavy and if you grow the right ones you can establish a good gormet market. Watchout for varieties that bolt in hot weather. Phil
