Why does the page expire when using search??

Say I search the archives and hit the back button. It says page expired, I have to go back to the home page and start over. Same things if I look at the photo ads for a certain state. I can see all the listings, but when I open one up to see the photo and details, then try to hit the back button, it says page expired. Sorry if this has been explained thousands of times before, hopefully I`m just missing something.... Thanks

My understanding is that its a "security feature" of internet explorer to preclude "accidentally" resending information. That's why you have to refresh the page. Microsquish strikes again!!!

Netscape doesn't have that problem...the back button always works.

Did you ever notice that it does it on the first page only?????

Once I go to the second page (or higher) the back button brings you right back to where you were.

I think it must have something to do with the cookies or such. Backing into the search page makes it want to start the search again. Hitting the refresh buuton does just that. Does a new search of the topic.

It started happening much more frequently (at least to me) when they announced they were testing some new features on the site a week or two back. To get around this, instead of using the left mouse button to click a link, I click the link once with the right mouse button, then when the choices pop-up select "open link in new window", then when I am done looking at whatever it was I can close that new window and the original search window is still open. Much more convenient that having to refresh and wait for it to re-search each time, at least for me it is.

Happens to me too but I just hit the refresh icon on the tool bar. Then ya get a box that says retry. Hit it and you're back in bussiness.

Been doing the same thing to me, I just thought something was wrong with my software. Was going to try and do a repair to my system, but will leave it alone now since someone else is having same problem as I am...

Thanks for the heads up Brokenwrench..
