Many years ago when I had interest in such things Playboy had a spread using a '61 Mercury ton and a half as a prop. If you had seen the shot you would remember the truck and the fender ornamemt. I believe the model was Shannon Tweed, also a Canadian.

61-66 Fords are amongst a favorite series of truck of mine, don't know too much about the merc's, but as was mentioned, they were made in Canada, and I believe were uni-body, no seperation of cab and box. The door tag says mercury, not sure what years they were made, the ford unibody was early in that series 61-66, maybe a couple of years and that's it. The entire series makes a fun hobby, there is an array of models, options features and other things about them, that makes em interesting, as well as an abundance of them, I cannot believe how many I've seen on e-bay, around here they are non-existent. Some oddities with these, like some models used the previous series box from the factory, 3/4 ton 4wd, makes you think it's mismatched, somewhat common to see the wrong year bed on a truck even late model, but factory correct.

When we bought our 1965 Mercury pickup (300 6), the dealer had one that had just been delivered with a Ford tailgate on it !! BTW I also had a 1970 Fargo (Dodge)pickup , slant 6 automatic.
Bought another F150 (300 6)from the same dealer 40 years later (2005)

Thanks, I really liked what you provided in this link. I have only seen one "Mercury" P.U. in my life and it was at the International Border crossing in the Upper Penensula of Michigan where you cross into Canada,it was sitting in a Parking Lot.
