Well, ok. I was disking one day and my Mom came running to the back of the barn and said the sheep got out and were heading for the neighbors across the road. I had just gotten a NH boomer and had taken it to full speed once-anyway I threw it in high, revved the engine and gunned it!! I hit a little bridge and acually went airborne while flying down the road behind our barn. Flying around the corner, I saw the sheep, so I hit the lawn flying at full speed, took out the close line and headed down the driveway honking and revving at the sheep. They saw me, and I circled around them cuting them off just a few feet before the road and we headed up across the front yard-with cars slowing down and all the neighbors out watching-and I honked and revved some more and cut through the garden, just as the neighbor boy blocked one escape-and my mom closed the door to the barn and they all ran into the gate, as I slammed on the brakes and skidded to a stop inches in front of the fence

I love my sheep-theres five and they're all pets. The only problem is, if they get out, they will do ANYTHING to get into the neighbors hay field or to eat out of the garden. That day they chose the hay.

My NH tractor is GREAT a TZ25DA and I love it. PLENTY of power- I lovce to Rev the engine in the garage when I put it up- The cats/dog duck and dust and papers Fly everywhere.

It has plenty of hydrolic power for a 5' bushhog and PTO power for a 52" tiller. If youre thinking of getting one DO it its the best decision I've ever made!!

Ah, so now I know why every small NH and Kubota we get in the shop is so beat up. Sheep herding. Those tractors just weren"t meant for that type of abuse. See why yuppies are so thoroughly hated in our shop?

Oh, and watch the revving. Those little diesels deserve every bit of respect that a 3406 Cat or Cummins ISX would normally get. Would you hop into a semi, fire it up, and promptly gun the engine? Not if you had some sense. Same goes for those little garden tractor diesels. Treat them nice, and they"ll go for thousands of hours. Treat them rough, and it"ll spend just as much time at the shop as at home.

Okay, I"ll get off my soap box now. Someone else"s turn.

Lyndon
Mechanic for the local NH/Kubota dealership.

Yea, I just love sheep. Grilled lamb chops are my favorite!!

I'm impressed that that NH is good at sheep herding. Might get one if I ever get sheep. I just get my sheep at Sams already cut up and packaged. Just a few ribs and chops at a time. Think their from New Zealand. Yummy!

I think the warranty just got voided.

But then when I was a teen I used to use a motorcycle when the cows got out. They eventualy learned to go back in when they heard it startup. Took a while to find that short in the rain.

We have longhorns & highlanders. Apparently one stuck its head in a wooden gate tied in the shed and got caught. Heard a crash outside and saw the steel barnyard gate lying on the ground ripped off the hinges and the big wood post busted off. A short distance away lays the wooden gate. Apparently the critter running like a bulldozer with the gate attached spooked all the others. Fortunately they weren't too bad to get back in.

Next time, why not shut the door on the garage before reving the motor up?
BTW, how many tomato plants on your "farm", or is it a "ranch"?

Ya'know, if these were your pets, why didn't you just drive up, call their names, and tell them to go back to their pens like my cows would do?

They are SHEEP not COWS and will in some cases eat till they explode. Nothing , except more food, can come between sheep and their food

My border collie will herd chickens and drive them back into their house.Cows are easy,he wont quit until all are up to the barn.He cost a lot less than a tractor. He can make 6 to 8 new pups with the help of a female friend.Old ways are usually better..I may get a few sheep to keep him busy.

Sheep are fun. They BAAAAA like crazy, but are VERY sweet and love people if you befriend them.

They Will come to me if I holler for them, but only if they're in their pasture. If they Escape and I call them, they know If they come, they'll get some corn but loose their freedom so you have to use other methods to herd them.

They do have a horn-you never heard a horn on a tractor? Very Shrill-sounds like an import car.

No cupholders, thought

I was moving some cows one time and one cow didnt want to go where she was suposed to.
Bumped her with the pickup. Didnt hurt the cow. Cost $300. to get the fender fixed.
