Hi Gang;
Yesterday torrential rain fell on northern, central and western England with 4 inches in some places.
Many Counties are flooded with rivers breaking their banks, bridges swept away, and homes & business flooded 2 and 3 feet deep.
This is the High Street in Much Wenlock in Shropshire - guy paddling in his corracle.
Cheers David

Hello David,
My 16 year old grand daughter is now on tour in your country with the people to people Ambassodar`s. As someone mentioned Churchill`s secret area, they were to visit it as well several other places, also one night they all slept in tent and rained all night. Great experience for those kids. They startrd their tour in Ireland next to France, then to Belgum then to Holland before returning home in July.

Who was it said people who paddle coracles "go round in nautical circles"? And if that's what the High street looks like, what does the Low street look like??? (Sorry; just couldn't resist...).

Is the guy to the left of the red car carrying a push broom? If so , that's one optimistic fellow.

And he sure can't hide that smug look on his face. The others don't seem so impressed though.

David, last night on the History Channel they were showing some of the underground tunnels and rooms in London that were used during WWII,even Churchills secret area. Had to be a good design to keep from filling with water during rains like that. They also said most of the people there now are not even aware of them.

Hi David, seems like we either have to much or not enough. I can't buy a shower here in central Ky. Rained all the way around me for the last two day's. I got 12 drops on the porch roof. Grass in lawns, where folks keep mowing is nearly dead. It is usually nice and green here, but not this time.

So corracles are still used. The floods made national news here.
