My brother and I are looking for a used tank (somewhere around 300 gallons or so) we can use to bring water out to our pumpkins. We used to have one a while back when we were much younger, but one of my other brothers found an old machete and d4ecided to take out his anger on that one..... We've still got the trailer we had it mounted on, although the wheel bearings are rusted tight right now it wouldn't be hard to get it mobil again and mount up a new tank- we just don't have a tank to put on it.

Anybody got any leads?

What about an old milk tank? Weld the lids on a flat top, or better yet, get a round one.... There must be lots of them around? They go for about a buck a gallon here, or less.

I'd send the brother out to buy a new one with his $200. Only way people learn to respect anything.

That was back when we were kids. We were all destructive to some point or another. Just not all to the equipment...

Ya But --- if you get away with it --- then you'd keep doing it --- that's the problem with raising kids these days -- the parents let them kids get away with it --- until the cops get involved and they talk to the Judge.... Parents have to be the cops and Judge all in one --- and the kids just may get the message or suffer the consequences later in Jail...

Don't worry about how we were raised, we all got it when we did something stupid.

On the other hand, ya kids these days need to get a woopin once in a while, not just a "time out" in the corner. Oh no!! He's gotta stare at the wall again after shotting the neighbor's cat with a BB gun!

If we can't find one we may have to go that route, but we're hoping for one thats cheaper, like say $100 or even free like the last one was.

They do alright on their own out there, but it would be nice to give them a little more water to make them grow a little more.

Try your local fertilizer dealer. They might have one laying around. Pumpkins are real sensitive to chemicals so be careful about what the tank was formerly used for. Jim

We're plenty aware of how sensitive they can be- We've got some planted on either end of a corn feild that was just sprayed 2 weeks ago. Some actually pulled through, and others didn't make it and were wiped out. The difference, that I see, is that the ones that made it were planted about 2 weeks earlier so they're much bigger and could probably take a bigger dose. We just sprayed them with a pre-emergence herbicide last weekend too. It's made to be safe on vione plants and some were knocked back a little bit, but none of them really seemed to be phased by that stuff. Seems to be working so far, but we'l se in another week or so how many weeds are gonna come back.
