For spot spraying, what is a good mix for spraying to clean up the yard and my grassy areas around the farm. Sprayers are 2 gallon hand sprayer and a 9 gallon ATV sprayer.

It depends on what you are trying to kill. If it's just broadleaf weeds, 2,4,-D is cheap and safe if used per the label instructions. If it's woody plants or some of the more invasive noxious weeds, you need something else, like Weedmaster, Crossbow, etc or their generic equivalents.

Thanks for the help guys. Yes I am trying to reduce weeeds in my grass. I'll have to wait till the wind is down to spray I guess. Only 10 more acres of beans to gho and my freinds crops are all planted, now for the hay, if it ever rains.

Wear gloves and don't get the stuff on your skin. Breathing the mist/fumes in isn't going to make you healthier either. Neighbour is dying of liver cancer and best medical evidence suggests it was likely caused by chemicals around the farm. Studies on Firemen who have worked in emergency situations around similar organic chemicals also shows a very high incidence of liver problems. Your liver wasn't built to breakdown and filter out 2-4-D, lindane etc.

According to the ld50 factor, 24D is less toxic than caffeine and slightly more toxic than aspirin. My Doctor has me taking aspirin everyday and I drink caffeine daily.

Is there any reason to get the stuff into your system if you don't have to? I suppose some people may let a little of any chemical on themselves to prove how tough, strong & imortal they are.

3 oz of 2,4-D per GAL of water, works like a charm

2-4,D will only work on broadleaf plants. Will not kill grassy areas.

Think he is trying to knock the weeds out of his grass, isn't he? That's the way I read it anyways.

I think what ever it says on the container is a good place to start . If it doesn't work as well as you want maybe add a bit more. Burdock seems to need a pretty stiff dose to kill it.

If you mean thistles by burdock best thing to kill them is a stick with rag dauber and just put a bit of old stale gas on them and they will wilt over dying before end of day. It's amazing how that will knock them over fast but chemicals won't. Just don't light it!
