Finally got some new treads on that 1066.

Amazing how new tires make the whole tractor look better.(:~})

Dealer once told me if he can't get what he wants out of a tractor he puts on new tires, and raises the price and it sells.

Yes Bob they are.

Friend of mine is in the tire business.

He ordered 8 ply for another customer and they sent him these 6 ply by mistake.

Sold them to me to get rid of them.

They will last for as long as I need them.

Gary

Iv'e been told you can tell how sucessful a man is by the condition of his shoes. Wonder if the same is true about tractors?

my oh my, the price we have to pay for these luxirious shoes!

With the prices at a maximum for these tires, used tires are non-existent. NO such thing as a cheapy AG tire like the general or safemark or CO-OP anymore. It's all firestone, goodyear, titan, and BF Goodrich tires now. NOT that there is anything wrong with them. In fact, I doubt if any new AG tire will fail compared to the old cheapy ones they used to sell.

If you looked at my farmall 404, the safemark tire on the left is newer than the goodyear on the right, but the safemark is coming apart at the tread.

My point? Quality tires last 'forever' provided that the owner keep sunlight off of them, air them up properly, and keep them from spinning too much.

Yep, much better with new shoes on it!

I'm dreading the end of my restorations of the A, H, and W9 because all of them need fresh treads all the way around! Maybe I'll get a fleet discount... ;o)

Tires sure do make a tractor....

I need a new set myself for my 1800. I still have good tread but the sidewalls are peeling off a layer of rubber in places exposing the plies underneath. Just wish the things weren't so expensive!
