Well, freind I help has a few acres of corn left then its on to the beans, darn hay looks ready to go also. Some of the big boys round here have there crops all in already with the tractors washed and put away till fall, their beans are 1" out of the ground already. Been a hard 7 days. Hopefully we can get the beans in before that rain comes Saturday and Sunday. Love driving them Oliver FWD, 2wd would get nothing done on their ground. I'll try to get some pics before we finish. How is every one else doing at this date??

My 4 acres of beans were planted on May 6, poking thru the ground very well now. We got 1.1" of rain Tuesday which will really help, we were very dry until then. 35 miles west of me they had 90 mph straight line winds with the storm Tuesday. Paul

Found a mud hole after dark last nite.

Didn't make it thru.

Had to call the son in law to help pull it out.

40 acres of beans today and then go get that 35 acres of wetland corn I left and I will be done.

Airrated that corn ground yesterday and I think it will go today.

Hey Gary, What's your total acerage and how does it break down per crop? Do you own it all or rent? I'm always amazed by the amount work and acerage you guys handle. It makes my little operation seem pretty insignificant. I wish you and the other mid west guys the best.

40 acres permanent pasture
100 acres of rotational pasture and hay.
20 acres of oats with seeding
350 acres of corn
360 acres of beans
240 acres of customed farmed corn and beans.
I own 240 acres and the rest is rented.

Thanks for the info Gary. Where in Ia are you located? I like yours and other pictures of farming in the midwest. It all makes my little pickle patches seem small, but here in my neighborhood I'm the big farmer. All in your perspective I guess.
Keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming.
Phil
