Hello-

I'm looking for a manual for an older tiller-the model number looks like H60105110G, with a serial of 1195D. A friend in town has one, and I offered to help find it for him. Any suggestions?

Thanks guys-I had tried that site earlier but had no luck with the actual model numbers.

I pulled it down and that's exactly what I needed.

Thx-

Chris before he tags in to it check with troy built the older one have a life time warranty on some of the parts and labor. I took the engine and wheels off and sent the rest to them in 3 boxes with UPS and they put in a set up jig and fixed mine all up no charge. The jig thing is important to get the angle and the preload or something like that right. It has been some time ago I had it done. I think I paid the shipping and maybe new gaskets.

Go to troy-built web site. You can download manuals there.

H60 might indicate a 6hp Tecumseh engine. That would indicate a late 60-early 70s manufacture, Tecumseh engines used because Kohler not available due to strike. Tecumseh manuals would cover engine, check Generator sections of some manuals- crankshaft output shaft for early TroyBilts was a long generator shaft spec. RN.

Thanks RN.

It is indeed a tecumseh; The owner is actually looking to do some work on the drive components (I'm way out of my element here; he's the mechanic and I'm the IT guy)...are you saying that any long generator manual should do? (Not that I even know what that means)

Thx-

Clarify 'long generator' - Crankshaft output shaft for generators was longer than for garden tractors and tapered. Troybilt origianly used a Kohler engine with that kind of shaft to fit their drive train. When Kohler workers went on strike the Troybilt assemblers went to other engine makers to find a similar crank output shaft so they could continue manufactoring without haveing to change the rest of the drive train- Tecumseh had the same shaft as Kohler available as replacement engine and was willing to provide it to Troybilt. Some manuals cover Troybilt and generator applications same pages for governor, carb settings, mufflers, and the shaft nut tightening specs. At least they did in shop I worked many years back. RN
