so i'm lookin' at 2 new shotguns and i'm not sure which one i should buy. one is a Rossi 20 ga. break action single shot.there's a link to it. the other gun i'm looking at is an H&R pardner 20 ga. break action single shot. same setup as the Rossi. i'll be usin' it for rabbits, crows, grackles, chipmunks, pheasants, home security, clay pidgeons, etc. general purpose gun. what are your guys' opinions and/or personal experience with either of these guns. the Rossi is 117$ and the pardner is 95$. help me, guys!

Rossi is prone to poor workmanship. My 357 rifle had the firing pin hole bored off set and that broke the tip off the firing pin.The dove tail was cut cockeyed for the rear sight, had to bend the rear sight leaf to get bullet on center. The new firing pin looked used. This was 10 years ago.I have an h&r 20 gauge that looks like the youth model but with out the soft butt plate. It has a 22 inch barrel.Modified choke. This was a special model made for wal mart.I have 2 pump shot guns but the H&R seems to get used more.My Rossi rifle has a sloppy chamber also. This rifle is a replica of the Winchester 92 and would have been a nice gun if the workman ship was better.

I think you would be happier in the long run with a remington 870 or a winchester 13 or 1400 better built weapons when it come to home defence single shots suck if you need to fire a second shot fast

I have an H&R 10 guage single shot, nice gun and shoots reliably. Rossi make a good gun also, but parts and service may be harder to come by.

Just an OT post directed to the tractor folks, most of whom are rural and have experience with guns. That's all. Now go take the knot out of your thong but don't do it where everyone cna see you.

Absolutly nothing. That is why he listed it O.T. as an off topic.

Got a H&R Pardner.410ga, an a H&R Handi Rifle in .223, with a optional .50 cal muzzle loader barrell. Love both (all three) guns. H&R was very good about repairs, and mounting the second barrell. Good things to say about them. Especially for the money.

H&R. Got several of them. Good guns, good company backing (Marlin owns them), lots of options.
