i have a simplicity 6216 runs fine when first started but within a couple of minutes (about 5)it starts running very poorly, you have to play with the choke, and eventually keep it choked just to keep it running, and eventually just dies.fuel filter is good, and it is getting fuel as far as i know .but solenoid is shot, was wondering if this has anything to do with engine control.....i am lost

Solenoid shot? You mean fuel shutoff solenoid on carberator? This can cause big problem, clean carb and check- plunger should retract on solenoid when electric current applied- use test jumpers. JD Sabre had about same problem- manual shutoff put inline and plain plug used temporary in carb until replacement solenoid found. Also check wiring to solenoid- dealer recommended, notes wires sometimes tugged out. RN

No, that solenoid is for the starter. I would say if the fuel solenoid is good, check for dirt in the carb, or your coil(Spark) is goig bad.

I'd say it's probably 1 of 2 things. Either you got dirt in the carb, or your coil is heading south.
